Tackling Hailey’s Clothes

April 14, 2008

Tackle It Tuesday Meme

Last fall I went a little bit crazy with the clearance sales.  I bought a lot of clothes for Hailey to wear this spring and summer.  And my mom also bought her a bunch of clothes on clearance.  We both got some excellent deals.  Since I am assuming that one day spring will arrive here where I live, I have decided that it is time to go through all of these clothes.

Our Happy Happenings

So, I got out these bags where I have been storing all of the clothes we bought last fall.  You really can not tell by the bags, but there’s a lot in there.

Our Happy HappeningsI organized all of the clothes into nice little piles so that I could see what I have for Hailey to wear.  I don’t think the picture really shows how much there is.  That one pile of shirts is quite thick.  I am hoping we will have enough days of spring and summer for her to actually wear everything in these piles.

I really hope these clothes are going to fit her.  I am a little bit worried that they might be too big.  Some of the clothes are size 24 months and some are 2T.  I can’t figure out the difference between the two.  Does anyone know?  But, the problem I have with Hailey’s clothes is that if the legs are long enough the waist is too big.  Oh how I wish I had her problem- a tiny waist and long legs.

Anyhoo- I am in the process of washing all of the clothes and getting them organized in Hailey’s closet.  And that is what I am tackling this Tuesday.

Stop by 5 Minutes for Mom to see what everyone else is tackling.

Hailey is one lucky girl. Mom shops lots of clothes for her, washes it and organizes it for her ;-) She’s going to be wishing that stays til her teenage years ;)

And I LOVE clearance sales! :)

Wow, you weren’t kidding! I didn’t expect all those clothes to come from the two bags! Very impressive shopping, organizing and cute clothes too!

    Great tackle!

I think the clothes in the months sizes are more accomodating for diapers wearing. The “T” sizes seem a bit slimmer in places, because many kids in those sizes are wearing training pants or undies which are a lot less bulky.

Aswesome tackle. I’d have to pick my kids’ clothes up off the floor & from under the bed & from where they’re shoved in the back of the closet to even begin to tackle your chore! :D

I am very familiar with this tackle but with hand me down clothes from bins in my garage which you could probably kinda see next to my lawnmower, lol. My daughter also has the same problem with clothes with the whole small waste – high water thing.

Be sure to stop by my blog for the new button codes and a giveaway :o )

Hopefully we’ll see you next week.

Clearance sales rock! 24 month or 2T . . . who knows. The only difference I’ve ever been able to see, and not even in all of the stuff I’ve bought, is that the butt area on the 24 month clothes seem to have extra room, like for a diaper. But I could be pulling that out of my behind, as well.

And really, WHO are they making these clothes for? I have not talked to one parent – not ONE who can buy pants that fit their kids . . . waist too big and legs too short – every. single. time. Thank goodness for adjustable waistbands! I love summer because shorts and skirts fit for like 3 years because they just get a bit shorter, but still acceptable. Pants – they might last 3 whole months before they look like high waters!

Um – ya, sorry to leave a blog post in your blog comments ;-)

Why do they even size their clothes? I mean, I know very very few 9 month old who wear 9 month clothes. They are all in the 12 month or 15 month clothes. And my great nephew who is turning 2 next month wears a 4 T (and he’s not a fat kid!) Crazy!

    Great organizing job!!

I hate the clothing sizes. My 4 year old is in 5 and 6 already! Darn thing and her long legs. But then you always see her undies because it is too big at the waist. Oh well! I don’t think that there is a difference in 24 months and 2T. Maybe a teeny tiny bit- but no real difference. They just like to mess with our tired mommy brains! Anyway- great job tackling the clothes!

I never have been able to figure out the difference between 24 mo and 2T – I’m thinking maybe, just maybe it’s referring to kids wearing a diaper or not. So, I’m thinking 24 mo pants for diapered bottoms and 2T for training pants bottoms. Just a guess. :)

You have a LOT of clothes there. One outfit for each day of summer. :)
