Thursday Thirteen #27

August 28, 2008

How is it possibly time for another Thursday Thirteen?  Every week my mind is blank when I try to think of something fun to do for Thursday Thirteen.  How do some people have hundreds of Thursday Thirteens?  How can you come up with stuff every single week?  Anyhoo, I decided to go with 13 quotes by Bill Cosby.

  1. Human beings are the only creatures on earth that allow their children to come back home.
  2. I don’t know the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please everybody.
  3. Fatherhood is pretending the present you love most is soap on-a-rope.
  4. I am not the boss of my house. I don’t know when I lost it. I don’t know if I ever had it. But I have seen the boss’s job and I do not want it.
  5. Women don’t want to hear what you think. Women want to hear what they think– in a deeper voice.
  6. Old is always fifteen years from now.
  7. Let us now set forth one of the fundamental truths about marriage: the wife is in charge.
  8. You know the only people who are always sure about the proper way to raise children? Those who’ve never had any.
  9. Sigmund Freud once said, “What do women want?” The only thing I have learned in fifty-two years is that women want men to stop asking dumb questions like that.
  10. No matter how calmly you try to referee, parenting will eventually produce bizarre behavior, and I’m not talking about the kids. Their behavior is always normal.
  11. In order to succeed, your desire for success should be greater than your fear of failure.
  12. Parents are not interested in justice, they’re interested in peace and quiet.
  13. Men and women belong to different species and communications between them is still in its infancy.

Stop by Thursday Thirteen to see more participants.

Help for You To Look Your Best

I am always looking for ways to try to be healthier.  I try to exercise and try to eat healthy.  I try to get enough sleep, but Hailey doesn’t always cooperate with that plan.  Recently I’ve noticed when I look in the mirror that I am starting to look older.  Now, I have always looked quite a bit younger than I am.  When I was in my late teens and early twenties it really bothered me that people thought I was so young.  Now that I am 30 I really like hearing people tell me they think I only look 20.  But the lack of sleep that being a mommy brings and several stressful things that have happened are starting to make me look a little older.  So, I was reading about Solutions IE Total Body Detox today.  Check out this press release:

Press Release:
Lehi, UT – The SOLUTIONS IE Total Body Cleanse formula combination is the latest breakthrough technology in the health industry, according to Lyn Hanshew, M.D. The program consists of two powerful products, Total Zeolite and Total Silver. Creator, and SOLUTIONS IE founder, David Larson, says zeolite - a naturally occurring mineral formed from volcanic ash millions of years ago -supports the body in the elimination of toxic heavy metals and harsh chemical toxins.”

Zeolite minerals from Total Zeolite enter the body as energized cages that trap toxic heavy metals and pollutants, such as mercury and lead, and eliminates them. Your body then has a cleaner, healthier environment, free of toxic heavy metals and modern poisons that can make you sick. Zeolite is so powerful it is used to create purified, medical grade oxygen from air using its ability to trap impurities. Zeolite was also used successfully in the clean-up after the nuclear power plant disaster at Chernobyl and was fed to cattle to keep radioactive ions out of the milk.

Total Silver is the perfect companion to Total Zeolite. Unlike antibiotics, which destroy only bacteria, and destroy both good and bad alike, Total Silver has been proven to destroy many different types of pathogens including viruses, bacteria, fungi, and other single-celled organisms such as parasites.

Total Silver may also be the answer to the rapid rise of staph infections. Several studies at a major Western University have shown the powerful effects of Total Silver on infections such as Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA).

“The combination of these two products will create a healthy environment for your immune system, rid your body of toxic waste, as well as kill any destructive pathogens that could be making you sick,” says Dr. Hanshew.

The Total Body Cleanse system is starting to see a boost in prescriptions from integrative practitioners around the world. Larson says these breakthrough formulas combine to address the most basic reasons why most people get sick: toxic environments and harmful pathogens. “Detoxification is a must to maintain a healthy lifestyle. You will be astounded at how much more vibrant you will feel when the internal cleansing process begins. Both Total Silver® and Total Zeolite® are provided in simple-to-use Intra-oral sprays making detoxification simple” says Larson.
Total Zeolite and Total Silver are the newest products from SOLUTIONS IE. Please visit http://www.solutionsie.com or call 801-717-3225 for more information.

Wordless Wednesday

August 27, 2008

My Wordless Wednesday is really late this week. I almost didn’t post it since it’s going to be Thursday in a few hours.  But, it just doesn’t feel like Wednesday without a Wordless Wednesday.  On to my wordlessness.

Does anyone else have days like this?  My laptop has been giving me problems lately that are frustrating me to no end.  So, what kind of computer issues do you have?

Need a New Laptop?

I know I do.  Well, technically I don’t need a new laptop, but Rich does.

Let me refresh your memory, in case you have forgotten.

This is Rich’s laptop.  A certain toddler who lives in our house, was one day trying very hard to get Rich’s attention.  She got his attention when she grabbed the screen and pulled it backwards.  You know- the way it isn’t supposed to go.  Well, something inside the laptop broke and this is how Rich’s laptop looked afterwards.

Rich does have it held open using a very sophisticated method (duct tape).  It’s been like this since June and Rich has been looking for a laptop ever since this happened.  But you know what?  A new laptop is expensive.  So he hasn’t bought one yet.

To saw I was excited when I saw the Charter Laptop-a-Day Giveaway would be an understatement.  Rich’s birthday is coming up soon and if I could win him a laptop that would be just perfect.

Charter_laptopSo, here’s the part you’ve been waiting for.  What do you have to do in order to have a chance to win?  You simply have to sign up for any Charter Communications service online and then you will be automatically entered to win one of 30 HP Compaq Presario C770US Laptops.  And each laptop is worth over $600.

Not only will you have a chance to win the laptop, but if you sign up for a Charter Communications service online you will get a Shell gas card valued up to $100.

Hurry on over to Charter Communications to check out their great services and prices.

Tackling the Craft Basket

August 26, 2008

I have a small part of counter top in my kitchen that is in a bad place and not really usable for preparing food.  Since I don’t really use it I have started keeping a craft basket there.  The basket has items in it for Hailey to use when we’re in the kitchen.  I keep things in it like playdough, construction paper, markers, stamps, stickers, colored pencils, crayons, etc.  When I need to cook dinner or occupy her for a few minutes I pull something out for her to do.  We also do a craft every evening after dinner (I post them on Our Crafts ~N~ Things if you’d like to see what we do) so there are some craft supplies in there too like paint, glue, and other things I need when we make our projects.  Most of her stuff is kept downstairs in her playroom or in my storage area but it’s just easier to keep a few things in our kitchen.  The problem is that right now it looks like this:

It looks incredibly messy and it drives me crazy.  So, today I’m tackling this basket.

Stop by 5 Minutes for Mom to see what everyone else is tackling.
