Hailey Loves Mickey

September 28, 2008

Remember this picture from a year ago when we were at Disney World?

Hailey is declaring her love for Mickey by biting him on the nose.  While at first I thought it was just an open mouthed kiss, I realized it was a bite when I had to pull her off of him.

Well that has been over a year ago now and Hailey’s love for Mickey has grown.  While we were in Disney World we bought her a stuffed Mickey Mouse that has become her favorite stuffed animal.  She always sleeps with him and brings him many places with us.  And the other day she told me, “My loves Mickey.”

So, when I saw this giveaway going on over at Chic Shopper Chick I knew I had to enter.  It’s for these cute Mickey Mouse Popsicle Makers.

Aren’t those just the cutest?  I know Hailey would love these, so of course I am entering to win.  If you want a chance to win- stop over at Chic Shopper Chickbefore October 4th.

So I’ve Been Thinking…

September 27, 2008

Did you notice that I didn’t post about my diet on Friday?  Well, it’s because I’m pretty much ready to give up on my diet.  I didn’t have any loss in the last week, once again.  I felt too discouraged to even post about it yesterday.  I feel like I’ve been doing this for the last two years without much result.  I try to eat healthy, I walk almost everyday and it seems like not much happens.  I haven’t even let myself buy any new clothes because for some reason I think that I will be able to wear my size 2’s and 4’s again.

Anyhoo, I was thinking today- and feeling a bit less depressed about it.  I think if I could make my exercise fun it might work out better for me- like if I bought a beach cruiser and used that.  I know my walking doesn’t burn a whole lot of calories because I am usually pushing Hailey in her stroller- and I can only go so fast without bouncing her out of her stroller.  But if I were to be riding a bike- that would be fun and I think I’d probably burn more calories, obviously resulting in more weight loss.

So, what do you do?  What are your secrets for successful weight loss?

Thursday Thirteen #31

September 24, 2008

For my especially exciting and creative list for this week, I am going to list 13 things I did on Wednesday.  Oh yes- my dear readers- the excitement around here is unbelievable.

  1. Made waffles for Hailey for breakfast.  Don’t be too impressed though- I actually made waffles last week for dinner and there were extras.  Whenever this happens I freeze the extras and then when Hailey wants waffles for breakfast I can just pop one in the toaster.
  2. Waited for about 20 minutes as Hailey emptied out her drawer filled with pants looking for something that would match her shirt.  Now I gave her some choices that would match, but she had to empty and fill her drawer over and over again to look for herself.
  3. I put a whole bunch of laundry away.  I don’t know why but I always have mountains of clean laundry to put away.
  4. Hailey and I did some Tot School stuff, which you can read more about on my Our Crafts ~N~ Things blog.
  5. Made ham and cheese for Hailey for lunch.
  6. Put Hailey down for her nap at 1pm.
  7. I actually laid down for a little while during Hailey’s nap.  Usually I get lots of stuff done during this time, but I have not been feeling very good, so I laid down for a while.  My head hurt too much for me to actually fall asleep, but I rested.
  8. I couldn’t believe it but Hailey actually slept in her own bed for 2 hours.  She didn’t wake up until 3pm.  Usually she wakes up after about 45 minutes or an hour and then I put her on my bed where she falls back asleep for the rest of her nap.  Of course, being the worrier that I am- I worried that she slept so well because she is getting sick.
  9. After Hailey’s nap we (Rich, me and Hailey) went to Toys R Us.  I was there on Tuesday shopping for Hailey’s birthday and I happened to find a Halloween costume that I have been searching for.  So, I bought it.  But, it was supposed to come with wings, which I realized weren’t there when we got home on Tuesday when I went to try the costume on Hailey.  I called and they found the wings and set them aside for me.  And so, I had to go back on Wednesday to pick up the wings.
  10. We stopped at McDonald’s and picked up food for dinner.  We took the food to the park to eat.  Hailey will never eat when we do that because she is too worried about getting on the swings and slides.  So while Rich and I ate, Hailey called out “My swing NOW!  My slide NOW!”
  11. Hailey played on the playground for a while.  Then we fed some ducks in the lake and watched the boats.  Then Hailey played some more on the playground and found a couple of new friends.
  12. When it was time to go, Hailey threw an unbelievable tantrum.  I had given her the five minute warning that we were leaving soon, but it did not help one little bit.  She screamed all the way to the car and it took both Rich and me to get her into her car seat.  And she also screamed all the way home.  And also, once we were home- the screaming continued.  Fun times.
  13. Now Hailey is sound asleep in bed and I’m hoping that all of the running around at the park and the screaming on the way home will help her to get a good nights sleep.

If you’re still awake after reading all of that fun- stop by Thursday Thirteen to see the other participants.
