Thursday Thirteen #35

October 22, 2008

I wish I knew who had written this list as I would surely give them credit.  But here is a partial list of some rules that toddlers live by.  This actual list has quite a few more on it, these are just some of my favorites that apply most to my life.

Toddler Rules

  1. If Mommy’s hands are full, I must be carried.
  2. If Mommy is in a hurry and wants to carry me, I must walk alone.
  3. If it has a tail, I must yank it.
  4. If it’s not trash, it must be thrown away.
  5. If it’s in the trash, it must be removed, inspected, and thrown on the floor.
  6. If Mommy wants me to come, I must run away.
  7. If Mommy wants me to go away, I must cling on for dear life.
  8. If it’s a pencil, it must write on the refrigerator, computer monitor, or table.
  9. If it’s full, it will be more interesting emptied.
  10. If it’s empty, it will be more interesting full.
  11. If it has buttons, they must be pressed.
  12. If it’s a stroller, it must under no circumstances be ridden in without protest and must be pushed by me instead.
  13. If it’s bath time, I must run around naked until I’m caught.

Stop by Thursday Thirteen to see who else participated this week.

Custom Calendars for Christmas

Do you know what I do everyday?  Take a lot of pictures.  If you are a mom then you probably take a lot of pictures.  And if you are a mom and a blogger- then you probably take even more pictures, like I do.  I am so thankful that we have digital cameras that allow us to take hundreds of shots in order to find the best few.

But, after you take all those pictures and upload them to your computer- what do you do with them?  I go through all of my pictures and pick some of my favorite ones to have printed for my photo albums.  I only do it every few months (actually the last time I did it, it had been 8 months and that was in June) but to me it’s worth taking the time so that I have some actual printed pictures.

A great idea for Christmas time is to take some of my favorite pictures and turn them into Custom Calendars.  Who wouldn’t love to get a calendar with an adorable picture of Hailey on it?  I sure can’t think of anyone.  You can have these custom calendars made at Vista- or search through all of their other products, they have a lot of choices.  Whatever you decide to do, don’t wait around because Christmas will be here soon!

Wordless Wednesday

I am really late posting my Wordless Wednesday this week.  I usually get it ready on Tuesday night and have it set to auto-post. But I was busy last night and ran out of time.  I’ve been busy all morning and ran out of time.  Now, I finally have time to get my post up- although most of the usual Wordless Wednesday people are probably done doing their rounds by now.  Anyhoo- on to to the wordlessness.

Stop by 5 Minutes for Mom for more Wordless Wednesday.

Crossing Off My List

October 21, 2008

Do you have some people on your Christmas list who are hard to buy for?  I have several people on my Christmas list that I never know what to buy for them.  Every year I try to come up with something I think they might like, but it seems a bit harder each year.

So, today I had an idea- I could get an engraved pen for one of those hard to buy for people.  I mean who can’t use a pen?  And having it engraved would make it special.  So, I was looking at Giftpens.com at their Cross Pens with free shipping over $69.  I found some that I like, so I’m considering this as an option.

How about you?  What are you going to get for those hard to buy for people?
