Dreaming of a Little Getaway

December 23, 2008

Do you know what I could use right now?  Well, besides a doctors appointment sometime before Friday (that’s when my doctor can get me in and I am soooooo sick).  Anyhoo- other than that I would love to take a nice little trip with Rich here:

Hiltonsocial-ad-300x400

We have been talking about getting away together for a little trip and when I saw this Hilton Promenade at Branson Landing and Hilton Branson Convention Center Hotel I thought they both looked like great choices.  Now I have never actually been to Branson Missouri but these days with the way the Internet works you can find all sorts of things to do anywhere in the world.  So, that is what I have been doing for the last half hour or so.  And I have found lots of fun things to do!

The first thing I would want to do is get a full nights sleep.  Doesn’t that sound just wonderful?  When was the last time I slept all night long?  Ummm…. I don’t remember.  After a good nights rest Rich and I could head off to Java Jive located right in the hotel for a good cup of coffee and some yummy pastries.  After that we could check out the Ripley’s Believe it or Not museum and then the Music City Center Theater.  For dinner I would want to go to the Dixie Stampede.  After our fun filled day I’d be ready for another full nights sleep.

Right now is actually a good time to go as they have their Winter Escape Package available and it sounds like lots of fun!

Tackling Last Minute Stuff

Tackle It Tuesday Meme

Can I make a little confession?  I haven’t started wrapping my presents (okay, actually- I wrapped a few on Monday).  Now to some of you that might be okay.  But I am not a last minute type of person.  I like to work on it a little bit at a time.  So last week I planned to start wrapping a little each day so I wouldn’t get overwhelmed.

Then last Wednesday I started not feeling well.  I had a slight cough, was achy and had a low grade fever.  Thursday I felt the same way except a little worse.  But I had shopping to do- so off I went.  Friday I felt even worse so I stayed home all day- getting over a foot of snow helped encourage me to stay home too.  Saturday morning I thought I felt a little better so off we went- more shopping to finish up.  When I woke up on Sunday morning I thought for sure I would die.  I can not even remember the last time I have felt so sick.  My fever was high, the coughing would not stop, my whole body hurt, and I just felt terrible.  I laid around all day, went to bed early and didn’t get up until 11am on Monday.  (Thank you so much to Rich for letting me just sleep and keeping Hailey quietly occupied!!!  In fact, Rich has been amazing the whole time I have been sick.  He has been doing everything.)  I felt a little bit better on Monday but not good enough to actually do anything besides lay around and complain.  I don’t think I have ever had a fever for 6 straight days.  (And just so you all know- I had my flu shot- so I don’t want anyone lecturing me about how I should have had it.)

Anyhoo- that was a long story.  All of that to say- I need to wrap my presents!  And I need to let Rich just do our baking.  He keeps asking me to let him do it and I keep telling him that I’ve been looking forward to doing it.  But I don’t think anyone will want to eat our Christmas cookies knowing I made them.  So, my plan for today and tomorrow:

  • Wrap presents
  • Let Rich and Hailey do the baking while I take pictures.

Stop by 5 Minutes for Mom to see what everyone else is tackling.

I Sat on Santa’s Lap Today!

December 20, 2008

How long has it been to since you have sat on Santa’s lap?  I just got done sitting on Santa’s lap and telling him my wish.  Virtually, anyways.  I didn’t actually go to the mall and sit on Santa’s lap… but it’s still the same.  I visited a website, uploaded my favorite picture of myself, sat on Santa’s lap and told him what I wanted for Christmas.  Then he checked with the elves to see if I have been naughty or nice this year- and I was on the nice list.  Hooray!!  I hope that means my wish will come true!  So have you sat on Santa’s lap yet?  I you have got a wish then you need to tell Santa what your wish is.

What is this really all about?  It’s actually about a Ceiva digital frame that you can get for $129.99 plus free shipping.  This frame is really neat because pictures can be sent to it from family and friends all over the world.  So if I have a new picture of Hailey I want to show up on my parents Ceiva frame I can do that.  Pretty neat!

Head on over to sit on Santa’s lap and tell him what you want for Christmas.  1 random entry will be selected for each day of the contest to win a cash prize of $500.  You know you could use the $500 to pay off some Christmas bills!
