This last week I have been trying to figure out where we are going to be for Christmas time. We really want to be home on Christmas day so that Hailey can open her presents and then spend the day playing with her new things. At the same time we want to be with our extended family and they live out of town. It seems like a dilemma that there just isn’t an answer for.
This morning I was looking at the Sears Heroes at Home Wish Registry and I started thinking that these families will have a family member who is off fighting for our country. They won’t get to see their loved one at all during the holiday season. And here I am worrying about not seeing some family members on Christmas day. But, I will get to see all of our family. So instead of sitting around feeling sorry for myself I should be doing something to help others.
There are some children who won’t get to see their mom or dad on Christmas and probably won’t be getting a whole lot of presents either. There are things that these children need- like clothes, coats and shoes. And of course they are kids so there are things they want like dolls and trucks. And we can do our part to help by donating to the Sears Heroes at Home Wish Registry. Now your donation won’t be tax deductable… but just imagine the face of the child who will receive a gift because of you and that is worth more than a tax deduction any day!
