Life’s Building Blocks Giveaway

December 5, 2008

This giveaway is now closed and the winner has been contacted.  Congrats Lance!

Let me introduce you to one of Hailey’s favorite new toys:

This is Zaki the chameleon and Hailey absolutely loves this toy!

And also- I love Zaki the chameleon from Life’s Building Blocks!  So- what does Zaki do?  Zaki tells stories that all have the theme of making the right choices.  While he tells the stories there are lights on his back that light up based on the choice the child in the story is making- green means it is a good choice, yellow means it’s time to for the child to slow down and think about the choice he or she is about to make and red means the child is making the wrong choice.  It’s an excellent tool for helping you as you teach your child how to make good moral choices.

Do you know what else I like about Zaki?  He does not have one of those very annoying voices that are enough to drive any mother crazy.  And I’m sure you all have a few of those very annoying voiced toys around your house.  Plus if Hailey ignores him for a few minutes he announces that he is going to take a nap and turns himself off.

There is also a song called “Zaki’s Song” that Hailey and I both love:

Hailey is dancing along with “Zaki’s Song.”

Zaki is just perfect for Hailey (she just turned 2) and is great for kids up to age 6.  There are also chapater books, activitiy books and a board game that teach the same important lessons and are geared for kids ages 6-11.

Here is some more information about Zaki:

Whether it’s a fairy, an angel or a cricket named Jiminy guiding them toward the right choices, children have always responded well to fictitious helpers. There’s just something about having a cute little icon there to help guide kids through the questionable times that really works. And, because parents can’t always be with their children to answer questions, a little angel on the shoulder is a good thing to have. Only now, that little angel has been reborn in the form of a cute little chameleon named Zaki.

The company is the brainchild of Vikash and Juli Sanyal, two southern California parents. Having spent years coaching young kids and observing interaction between elementary age children at school and at play, Vikash and Juli felt passionately that there was a need for character building products that would be fun for kids and easy for parents to use. So with the help of character and game development experts, they developed an award-winning line of character education tools that every parent wants, and every child needs.

Because children of different ages require different learning strategies, Life’s Building Blocks has developed age-appropriate products. In addition to creating Zaki, a lovable, talking, plush “character chameleon,” because children respond to other children, the company has placed Zaki in the midst of the Spruce Street Six — a group of best friends in the third grade.

Through actual storytelling, chapter books and activity books, the close friends who make up The Spruce Street Six are faced with many of the common ethical challenges that confront every child. Each adventure highlights the strengths, weaknesses and virtues of each of the children that are highlighted. The Spruce Street Six share a bond that is extended to children, helping them to learn how to make better ethical decisions.

So- now that you must want your own Zaki the Chameleon, chapter books and activity books- let me tell you what you need to do for a chance to win:

  • Stop by Life’s Building Blocks and look around.  Then come back here and leave me a comment telling me something you saw on their site (anything at all).
