We all need to save some extra money.  Right?

I was reading about this great program today that can help save some money.  Unfortunately I do not qualify for this program but I wanted to share it with all of you in case you can benefit from it.  If you are a student (or have a child who is a student), if you are 26 or younger or if you are a teacher then this program can benefit you.

ISIC is an International Student Identity Card for currently enrolled students.  There is also the IYTC- this one is for those 26 and younger and the ITIC- for teachers.  If you get this card it can be used for some pretty amazing discounts all over the world at companies you know and love.

Like what kind of discounts?  Since I used to be a teacher and I know there are teachers who read my blog I’ll share a few of the discounts available to teachers.  How about Jet Blue?  You can get 11% off.  Once you get to your destination- there are several rental car companies such as Avis and Hertz where you can get discounts.  There are lots more discounts to be found for teachers, students and young people.  So be sure to check this company out.

Since we are planning to try to sell our house in the (hopefully) very near future I have started working on preparing our house to call a real estate agent.

I started with our spare bedroom.  Since we don’t use this bedroom it always ends up with stuff just getting stuck in there.  I usually keep on top of it by straightening it up every week or so.  But before Christmas it got messy and then I was sick and then we weren’t home, and then Hailey had pneumonia, and so on… It’s gotten really bad.

The bed has bags of clothes that need to be put away in that rubbermaid container.  Plus some random boxes, wrapping paper and other random items.

I usually use the desk to put craft supplies for the activities I have planned for each week.  But the stuff has been piling up since before Christmas and I hadn’t put away the stuff I had already used.  There are boxes of stuff that I have already packed and boxes I used for wrapping Christmas presents.

This side of the room isn’t too bad but still needs to be straightened up.

This room is all done- it looks empty because things have taken off the walls and packed up.  I won’t be doing that in other places- but since we don’t use this room I thought I’d get it all done.

Are you in need of a new vacuum?  I know I am.  I have had my vacuum for a little over 8 years and it has been a pretty good vacuum.  But it needs to be replaced.  For one- every time I run my vacuum there is a slight odor left behind.  And it is very difficult to use on stairs, in small spaces or up next to the edges of rooms.  So I have been doing a little vacuum shopping.

I love how the vacuum cleans up the pet hair so easily.  I know that many times I have to vacuum the same place over and over to get all of Dottie’s hair vacuumed up.  Plus Hailey has asthma and we’re not exactly sure yet what is causing it (possible allergies) so I love how well the filter works on the Miele Callisto. 

Honestly, the price of the vacuum seems a little high to me.  But according to the video I will never have to buy another vacuum again… and if that is the case it would be worth checking out some Miele Diamond Dealers to look into buying one.

Starting tomorrow for my Tackle it Tuesdays I am going to start a little series about getting our house ready to move.  We have been wanting to move for over a year and I am tired of talking about it and ready to just do it.  So there are several projects we need to get done before we call a real estate agent.  And to keep myself motivated to get things done I’ll be posting about it every week.  (Anyone want to come watch my very busy 2 year old so I can get things done?)
