Looking for Love?

February 25, 2009

Are you looking for that special person in your life? I am thankful that I am happily married. I was fortunate enough that I met Rich when I was 17 so I never really had to be a part of that whole dating scene. I do know that it is not so easy for everyone though. Maybe you are young or not so young and you still have not met that right person. Thanks to the Internet you should be able to find someone who could be perfect for you. Now if you had said that 10 years ago I probably would have thought you were crazy. But now I think that dating sites are very well set up and are very helpful in finding a compatible person for you.

There is a site called passion search that might be the right fit for you.  You can set up a free account and check out their site.  It’s not your typical dating site so even if you have tried other sites and you were not successful you might still want to check out this site.  Stop waiting around and complaining about how you can’t find the right one. Use the Internet and a reputable company to help in your search.

Dental Health Month Giveaway

This giveaway is now closed and the winner has been contacted.  Congrats Rosanne!

Now I realize that Children’s Dental Health Month is in February and that February is almost over- but the dental health of our children is always important!  So- I just have to share with you this fantastic toothbrush that Hailey has.

Let me start by saying that brushing teeth with Hailey has not always been a very fun process.  And anyone who has ever had a 2 year old will certainly understand.  But, recently Hailey got to check out the Crayola Timer Light Toothbrush.  And she loves it!  The toothbrush has a button on the bottom of it and when Hailey pushes it the toothbrush flashes for one minute.  This helps us to know how long she needs to brush her teeth.  And Hailey thinks it is just so exciting to have her toothbrush lighting up that she wants to brush her teeth.

Check out how cute this Crayola Timer Light Toothbrush is:

Thursday Thirteen #42

I have decided for my Thursday Thirteen this week that I would take a look back at my Thursday Thirteen goals for 2009 to see how I’m doing so far.  My response to my original goal will be in italics.

  1. I need to reach my goal weight. I have 14 more pounds to lose.  Ummmm- I still have 14 pounds to lose.  But at least I haven’t gained.
  2. Exercise every week. Notice I said every week, not every day.  I haven’t exercised once this year.
  3. No more “googling” health related questions- whenever I do this I end up finding information that scares me to death.  I’ve done pretty good with this.  I think I’ve only done this twice.
  4. Keep in touch with friends- I’ve lost touch with some good friends.  This is a work in progress.
  5. Take a weekend trip with Rich.  Done!  We had a great time.
  6. Find some friends- I need to have a few friends in real life.  Nope- still no friends.
  7. Move- I really want to move back to our home town. We need to stop talking about it and just do it!  My house is for sale!  So this should be happening soon.
  8. Cook healthier meals for my family- I need to stop throwing things together at the last minute.  I’ve been much better about creating a weekly menu and sticking to it.
  9. Be better about commenting on blogs. I’ve been such a slacker with my commenting lately.  I’ve been responding to everyone who leaves me a comment by leaving them a comment.
  10. Scrapbook! I’ve been collecting things to make a scrapbook for Hailey since before she was born. And I need to just start working on it.  Not yet.
  11. Read. I love to read books and I used to always have one I was reading. Now it seems like there isn’t time. But I need to start reading again.  Not yet.
  12. Go to bed earlier. No more staying up until 12 or 1 every night.  I’ve been getting into bed between 11 and 11:30 most nights.
  13. Get dressed every day. I think I’d feel better about myself if I didn’t spend so much time in sweatpants.  Done!  I have been getting dressed every single day!

Thursday Thirteen has a temporary new home until the old Thursday Thirteen comes back- check it out at Thursday Thirteen.

Safe and Natural Beauty Products

February 24, 2009

The very day I found out I was pregnant with Hailey I started worrying.  I worried about everything I ate.  And when I had morning sickness 24 hours a day I worried about how I was not eating.  I worried about what kind of medications were okay to take- and decided to never take anything.  I wondered if my contact solution was safe and I worried about the make- up that I wore.  I wondered if it was okay to use nail polish and had no idea what I could use to try to keep my complexion clear.

I’m sure most of my worries were normal for a first time mom, although from talking to other moms I do think I worry a little bit more than most people do.  But, when it comes beauty products you can safely use I really did worry.  I know many of those products have all sorts of chemicals in them- things that probably aren’t very good for us and are certainly not good for a developing baby.

That’s where Beaute de Maman comes along.  Beaute de Maman was developed by a board-certified obstetrician and uses only natural and herbal ingredients.  There are several different products to choose from- things that all pregnant women need.  And the prices are really reasonable- if you’re pregnant and wanting to take care of yourself then you should order now.
