Dental Health Month Giveaway

February 25, 2009

This giveaway is now closed and the winner has been contacted.  Congrats Rosanne!

Now I realize that Children’s Dental Health Month is in February and that February is almost over- but the dental health of our children is always important!  So- I just have to share with you this fantastic toothbrush that Hailey has.

Let me start by saying that brushing teeth with Hailey has not always been a very fun process.  And anyone who has ever had a 2 year old will certainly understand.  But, recently Hailey got to check out the Crayola Timer Light Toothbrush.  And she loves it!  The toothbrush has a button on the bottom of it and when Hailey pushes it the toothbrush flashes for one minute.  This helps us to know how long she needs to brush her teeth.  And Hailey thinks it is just so exciting to have her toothbrush lighting up that she wants to brush her teeth.

Check out how cute this Crayola Timer Light Toothbrush is:

My autistic son is intrigued with flashing lights and hates to brush his teeth. I think combing the two just might help the situation. As for now.. it is a struggle to get him to brush his teeth and I have to bribe him with extra tv time, play time, etc. to get him to brush his teeth.

To get my kids to brush their teeth, we make up silly songs on the spot to sing while they brush. A family favorite is “Goin Round the Track”, which contains the lyrics “then I jump on the bug, and I spit it out on the rug, sometimes I go around the tra-ack!” It’s fun to see what lyrics we come up with on the spot!

My daughter is also 2 and she is a huge fan of the Wiggles. We have a Wiggles cup in the bathroom that she get to use when rinsing. She’ll brush and let us brush with no problems b/c she knows she gets to use the “Wiggeys Water Cup”

My 17 month old ds also loves to brush his teeth! He’d been watching us brush our teeth since the day he was born, and then one day he suddenly grabbed my toothbrush and started to brush! I think part of it is that it also relieves his teething. But, YEAH! He loves to brush! : )))

Thanks so much for this fabulous give~away! : )))

Just like the car doesn’t go anywhere without being buckled up first, it’s not bedtime (or schooltime) until after the teeth are brushed.

My 4yo’s been using a Tooth Tunes toothbrush for a while, but it’s needing to be replaced soon :) It makes her want to brush her teeth so much that I have to hide it!
