Shirts for Rich

March 30, 2009

Rich is in need of some new clothes so I was looking at Moniker because this store is perfect for him.  Rich is so picky and he almost always returns shirts that I pick because the collar isn’t right or the buttons are wrong or the shirt isn’t long enough.  So, what makes MONIKER perfect?  That you specify, step by step, exactly how you want your shirt to be.

Right now the Moniker website is in it’s Phase 1 stage, they only carry shirts.  Somewhere around the middle of this year they will have their full menswear line including suits, sport coats, pants, and more.  They also hope to add a womens wear line in 2010.  So you’re going to want to keep an eye on this site.

Another thing I love about Moniker is that they have committed 10% of the company equity to a charitable trust and that trust will invest in efforts to end poverty.  Definitely a company worth checking out.

Pinky Scout Giveaway

This giveaway is now closed and the winner has been contacted.  Congrats to Mimi the kitten!

I love shopping for new things for Hailey.  And I love the mom owned stores that I have found on the Internet over the last year or so.  I recently had the chance to review a product from Pinky Scout, a mom owned boutique, and I was thrilled to have the chance.

Now, before I get to the actual review, I just have to share where the name Pinky Scout came from.  This is taken from the About Us section of their site and I just love this story!

The Pinky Scout Story

The Pinky Scouts began many years ago by three little girls. Best friends and sisters who swore they’d always stick together and always look after each other – through thick and thin.

Underneath the covers of a make-shift tent with flashlights in hand they’d link pinkies tightly together and recite the Pinky Scout pledge for every promise to be kept:

We love our Pinky, yes we do.
And no, our Pinky is not blue.

As they grew older, the sisters remained Pinky Scouts, true to their Pinky Scout name. Always depending on each other they’d instinctively link pinkies to show their support to each other.

They each have a little girl, and they’ve become Pinky Scouts, too.

Now the three sisters run a children’s boutique together in Troy, Ohio. A move to a bigger store inspired them to change its name:  The secret’s out, and you’re now invited to become a Pinky Scout.

Pinky Scout is a community of friends that share a common interest in offering the best for kids. More than just a shop, Pinky Scout is a place where we celebrate childhood, give special gifts, act a little silly, and always bring out the best in each other. Where a Pinky Promise still means something. Where we encourage every kid to express their own tastes and personalities to the fullest.

Where Style is our Duty.

Isn’t that just the cutest story!  I love it!

Anyhoo, I had the chance to check out a personalized necklace from their new line.  And they are sooooo adorable!  Here is one of the choices:

I love it!  The necklace is made with a wood tile that is personalized for your child and sealed with a glossy sealant.  The beads are optional, but I think they are too cute not to include.  The ribbon is adjustable so you can make the necklace fit anyone.

Not only do they have these adorable necklaces, but they have tons of other super cute items to pick from.  Here are a few of my favorites:

Sheri Blum Pink and Black Clock

Oopsy Daisy Baby LIMITED EDITION Pink Rainbow Halter Pettiskirt Dress

Personalized Elephant Safari Canvas Art

And soooo much more!

Stocking Up For Next Year

March 27, 2009

If you read Livin’ With Me you know that this week has been a bit of an up and down week for us.  First we thought we found the right house for us to move to- but the sellers wouldn’t come down in their price at all, so we had to move on.  We were excited and then disappointed.  Since we came back from being out of town looking for a house I have been busy packing up our current home getting ready to move.  We have to pack as much as possible before we head out of town again, so I’ve been stuck in the house packing all week.

Then today it was time to get out!  So we headed to the mall.  This is the perfect time of year to stock up on clothes for Hailey for next winter.  Since she was born I have always waited for clearance sales and then stocked up on clothes for the following year for her.  So, we were off to look for some deals.  At Sears they are having 75%-80% off the original prices of their fall and winter clothes.  This fantastic sale will take place until April 18th- so make sure you check out the great prices.

Sears is also running a fun promotion right now.  If you go to bustedmoms.com and become a fan of Sears Busted Moms on Facebook you’ll have a chance to enter to win a $2500 prize package from Sears.  And who couldn’t use that?  You can also follow Busted Moms on Twitter- @bustedmoms for chances to win Sears gift cards.

Anyhoo- it was nice to get out of the house for a little while.  Tomorrow I’ll be back to packing up our house.
