Now that spring is here- it’s time to get back in shape. Last fall I was doing pretty good and was only about 10 pounds away from my goal weight. Now? I’m a bit further away from my goal. All of this stress of moving and not being able to find a house has taken its toll. I’ve been snacking way too much lately and not working out at all.
So, a few days ago I decided it was time to start walking everyday. I was curious to see how much walking I do on a regular day without any effort towards actual exercising. I put my pedometer on and did my normal stuff. At the end of the day I had taken over 13,000 steps. I figured it must have been wrong. But the next day- same result. More than 13,000 steps. No wonder I’m so tired at the end of the day! Now just image if I did some meaningful exercise and less snacking- I could be on my way to being healthy. Right now- this is how I do my walking:

Yup- inside, in my slippers. Maybe if I put some shoes on and got outside, I would be healthier!
Plus, from now until October 31 Bumble Bee Foods will donate $.15 for every mile you log on the BeeWell Miles site. The money is being donated to the Breast Cancer Network of Strength. Every 2000 steps counts as a mile. So, if I walked around 13,000 steps each day that would be 6.5 miles- $.97 per day. I could help raise almost $175 just by logging my regular steps. If I add some exercise to my day- say 2 miles per day, that would be another $54. So you can see how it really adds up quickly. I’d be healthier and helping someone is need. What could be better than that?
