KidCards Giveaway

May 28, 2009

This giveaway is now closed and the winner has been contacted.  Congrats Carrie!

What kinds of gifts do you like to receive from your children?  I love homemade gifts- those mean the most to me.  For Mother’s Day this year Rich helped Hailey make me a present and I thought it was just the sweetest thing ever.  When Hailey gives gifts to other relatives I try to have her make something too.  So when I saw these KidCards I was thrilled with the chance to check them out.

KidCards

KidCards are kind of like an activity book that is filled with cards that your child can decorate to make them more personal than a traditional greeting card would be.  And- they are much cheaper too!  Hailey has already decorated and given a few of the KidCards.  She enjoyed making the cards and the recipients enjoyed getting them.  Here’s a little more information about KidCards:

As a mother of two, Melissa Marra loved watching her daughters make homemade cards for birthdays and other celebrations, as well as to tell their flu-ish BFFs to get better soon. But as much as they loved making cards, it was very time consuming and required a lot of help and guidance. One day, while making cards with her oldest daughter, Marra had an idea that would allow a child to make homemade cards, but would focus them in the right direction.

Thus, the idea for KidCards® was born. KidCards are adorable, plastic-spiral topped “books” in which the pages contain “pre-drawn” greeting cards. Each card/page can be removed, colored and folded into individual greeting cards. A set of envelopes is thoughtfully included, too. Since coming up with the idea, Marra has created and sold her product to thankful parents, teachers and caregivers all over the country.

So how would you like to win a set of KidCards?  One lucky winner will get to pick between Volume 1 or 2 or the Christmas edition.

Volume 1: Coloring Cards – These cards are ready for color and decoration! Variety includes Birthday, Thank you, Get Well, Congrats and general Friendship designs. The front cover of each card has design ready for coloring with a lettered message inside. Perfect for the younger child. 20 Cards per book. MSRP $14.99.

Volume 2: Freehand Drawing Frames – Cards with themed frame on the cover; leaves more room for creativity because a child can draw whatever they want inside the frame. Variety includes Birthday, Thank you, Get Well, Congrats and general Friendship designs. 20 Cards per book. MSRP $14.99.

Special Edition: Christmas Book – Includes 15 “Merry Christmas” cards in five designs as well as five Christmas Gift Thank You notes. 20 cards per book. MSRP $14.99.

Clothes Shopping

May 24, 2009

I haven’t gone shopping for clothes in a long, long time.  Unless you count the clothes shopping I do for Hailey- I buy new clothes for her all of the time.  But as for myself- no shopping for clothes for me.  I used to go shopping a lot and buy myself new clothes all of the time- way too much, actually.  If I could lose some weight and fit back into my pre-pregnancy clothes it would be like having a huge new wardrobe.  And I keep telling myself that I am going to lose the weight so I shouldn’t buy any new clothes.  But I think if I could have a few new outfits and feel a bit better about myself that it might be easier to lose some weight.  At least that is what I am telling myself.

I was checking AMIClub wear and looking for a new summer dress.  Now I honestly had a kind of a hard time finding something that I would actually wear- these are not typically the kind of clothes I wear.  But I thought it might be fun to be a bit daring and I found this cute dress:

BLACK CHIFFON LEOPARD PRINT ASYMMETRICAL LONG DRESS

It’s only $32.99, a pretty good deal for a summer dress.  I don’t have any special occasions to wear it to, but it might be nice to just have a new outfit for the summer.

Stress Relief

May 20, 2009

You know what would be a good stress relief from me right now?  A nice little getaway.

As you probably know if you’ve read my blog before we are in the middle of moving.  We have already sold our house and things are moving much slower than we had hoped with our new house.  So we have been staying with my parents until our new house is ready to close.  We appreciate sooooo much everything that my parents have done for us.  But this whole moving thing has me feeling a bit stressed out!  Once it’s all done I think it would be nice to take a little trip to relax.

The Hilton Promenade at Branson Landing or the Hilton Branson Convention Center Hotel would be the perfect place to stay if we visited Branson, Missouri.  There is a Summer Escape package where you can get a free nights stay- that would be great!

While I have never been there I have visited the websites of these two great hotels and it really looks like a great place to visit.  There is so much to do there that I’m sure there is something for everyone.  I would love to be able to visit the museums, local attractions and theaters if we were to visit Branson. I am hoping a trip will be in my near future!!
