I can’t believe it, but in about a half hour it will be September.  Where oh where does the time go?  I was watching a video from December 2008 earlier today of Hailey.  I was thinking- man she has changed a lot and it’s only been a few months.  And then I realized it has been more than a few months- it’s been almost a year.  Anyways- with the arrival of fall right around the corner I am getting excited!  Fall is my favorite season- I love the leaves and the smell in the air.  I love Thanksgiving and I love football.

I’ve already been paying attention to how the Vikings are doing- 3 wins so far!  Woo-hoo!!!  I think it’s going to be a good year for the Vikings- it’s about time and I’ve been waiting- so my prediction for this year is that the Vikings make it all the way to the Superbowl.

I have also been playing around at WaiverWire- mainly with their stimulus package that is free.  You can sign up for some fun fantasy football.  I love how easy it is to use the site and how easy it is to navigate and find what I am looking for- like stats about my favorite players.  And when it comes time to draft players- it’s just a click away.

In case you missed my post last week- I told you about this new kind of TV called truTV.  You get to watch these real life shows on TV.  It’s not reality TV which seems more and more staged and rehearsed every time I see it.  It’s real life on TV.  When you are watching truTV you have to be pretty careful because these shows will get some major responses out of the people who are watching them.

I was watching a truTV video tonight and my mouth literally dropped open when I saw this.  Now of course some truTV videos will create a much bigger response than your mouth dropping open, but for me I was shocked by what I saw and didn’t have any other reaction other than my mouth hanging open.  I’m sure it was lovely for those around me to see.  Ha!

Now as someone who bungee jumped as a teenager (I couldn’t do it now though, I guess I smartened up as I got older!) this is pretty scary.  Check it out:

Now wouldn’t you rather watch something like that, something real, than some of the silly shows that are on these days?  Just make sure you watch truTV with caution- you never know how you’re going to respond to what you see!

I need some camera advice.  It seems that since we are going to be leaving for vacation soon my camera decided to start acting up.  I’ve had it for a long time- at least 7 years.  I can’t really remember for sure.  I didn’t use it a lot at the beginning because I wasn’t all that thrilled about digital cameras.  Now I can’t imagine not having a digital camera!  So this week the little screen on the back has been not showing me my picture after I take it.  Or the screen just flashes between black and what I’m trying to take a picture of.  I can’t have that happening on vacation.  So, can anyone recommend a good camera- not anything too expensive.  I just take pictures for fun, I’m not an expert and I don’t need an expensive camera.  Any ideas?

Are you into the whole reality TV deal?  For the first couple of years I loved Survivor and then for the first few years I loved American Idol.  But after a while it all starts to all seem a little bit fake.  I also watched Jon and Kate Plus 8 for a while and now there are all sorts of people saying how scripted the show is.  Even though it is reality TV it isn’t really real life.  And after a while that gets a bit old.

There is a different kind of TV with real stories- truTV.  It’s different than reality TV because the stories are actually real life.  Now there is something called the truTV effect- which basically means that because it is so real it will have a real effect on you.

What kind of TV watcher are you?  Rich is the kind of TV watcher who likes to talk back to the TV.  I don’t usually talk to the TV but I am more the type to just make comments like, “Can you believe that!”  With truTV we will need to watch with caution because it is so real.  I think that the Black Gold truTV show will get quite a bit of attention and something you might be interested in watching- and you can watch it online!
