Once upon a time (before I was a mom) I thought it was fun to go out and shop around at various stores.  I’d have an item that I wanted and I would shop around at different stores checking out prices and trying to find the best deal.  It was fun to me to go to the stores and actually shop.

Now?  I’m a mom and while I still enjoy shopping it has changed quite a bit for me.  I prefer to do my shopping from home, right in front of my computer.  Hailey can happily play with her toys while I do my shopping and price comparisons at home.  Then we’re both happy.  There is no getting her in and out of her car seat 20 times per day.  Or fighting with her to stay in her stroller while I shop.  Or listening to the whining and complaining.  You moms know what I’m talking about!

Last week I found this site called Fresh Deals and it is perfect for me!  And you know when I find something that is perfect for me I just have to share it with you.  Because I love my readers and I know that you all love to save money just like I do.  So say your almost 3 year old had a major growth spurt over the summer and absolutely none of her clothes fit her anymore…  just hypothetical of course.  You can go to Fresh Deals and go to the kids clothing category and find some great fresh deals!

Fresh Deals also has this great Q&A section where other users can ask questions and get answers from each other.  Like one person asked for advice about getting a GPS and got some advice from another user.  It’s a great tool for getting some good advice!

I can think of a few fun Halloweens for me- I remember one year when I was working  we had a fun themed party at work. We decorated our work area and I dressed up as a nanny.  All of the people I was the manager of dressed up as babies and I was their nanny.  It was so much fun and great for the morale.  Since then my favorite Halloweens have involved Hailey. Her very first Halloween she was only a few weeks old- I dressed her up as cow and took her to meet our neighbors for the first time.  The next year she was Minnie Mouse and too young to really understand what was going on- but was cute as could be!  Then last year she was Tinkerbell and she loved going trick-or-treating… but even more than that she loved passing the candy out to the kids.  I have  a video of her standing in our driveway yelling, “Kids!  Kids!  Come get your candy!”  It’s too cute!!

It’s that time of year- the time when we all need to go through our closets and figure out what needs to get stored for the winter, what needs to be given away and what needs to be thrown away.  Once I get all my summer clothes put away and pull out my fall and winter clothes I know I’ll need to do some shopping.  I haven’t really bought myself any new fall/winter clothes in quite a while and so I think I’m due for some new clothes.

Times are tough though.  I know I still like to have name brand clothes but I don’t want to spend the money in the expensive stores to get those clothes.  So, in times like this, you’ve gotta pay attention to these kinds of commercials:

I’ve seen a few of these commercials lately and I’m sure you have too.  So, I know I’ll be checking out T.J. Maxx and Marshalls for some new clothes for this fall.  I can always find things for myself that I want.  Plus with Hailey’s birthday coming up and the fact that she grew a LOT since the last time she needed long sleeves and pants I need to get her new clothes too.

Not only are their clothes reasonably priced but I love the items they have for around the house.  When we moved in a couple of months ago I did some shopping at T.J. Maxx and got some great deals that I could not have gotten anywhere else.  Since I can always use some new fall decorations I plan to buy myself some new decorations too!

I don’t know if you remember but a couple of weeks ago I posted a video and had you guess what it was all about.  I didn’t know what it was about either- remember my Red Chair Confessions post?  It was called “What Did She Do?”  It was actually an advertising campaign- a very good one at that.  I had no idea what it was about but I did keep going back to see if I could find out.  All we knew was this lady had done something that she said she shouldn’t be doing, but she just couldn’t stop.  I had a feeling it was shopping related, but that was just a guess.

So- what was she doing?  Shopping at Talbots.  Now what is so shocking about that?  Well, I don’t know about you but when I think about Talbots I don’t necessarily associate their style with the younger crowd.  And this young lady was very nicely dressed with great accessories.  All because Talbots is now changing their image.  They are trying to get to the younger crowd by offering hip and modern clothes- and they are also affordable.
