Stick To Your Budget!

January 13, 2010

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Alice.com. All opinions are 100% mine.

I have always been interested in making sure I get the best possible deal on everything I buy.  One area that I struggle with that is in my groceries and miscellaneous type purchases.  There are several different stores to pick from for those kinds of items.  What I tend to find is that some things are cheaper at one store, but other things cost more at that same store.  So, unless I had a memory good enough to remember what price is best at which store, it’s just too hard to try to shop that way.  Not only that, but I don’t have the time to go to a whole bunch of different stores to get my groceries and laundry detergent.

So, today when I was checking out Alice.com I knew I had found just what I need!  At Alice I can get all of our essentials like laundry detergent, soap, lotion, etc.  Alice has great prices and shipping is always free.  Always.  Plus, Alice finds coupons for you and automatically takes them off of the items you’re buying.  I found the hand lotion that I always buy at Target for around $4 and was able to get it for $2.41 at Alice.  It would be so much easier to stick to my monthly budget too because I would only buy what I need.

Alice also has a referral program, so you can even make a little money by referring your friends.  Be sure to check out Alice.com to see if it can meet your needs too!

Giving Back

January 7, 2010

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Wheat Food Council. All opinions are 100% mine.

How would you like to see the Wheat Foods Council donate up to 90,000 pounds to Operation Homefront? I would love to see Operation Homefront get this much needed food.  Operation Homefront is a non-profit organization that provides assistance to needy U.S. troops as well as their families.  I think that helping others is one of the most important things we can do as humans and everyone should be willing to help others.  Helping others is a very rewarding feeling.  I feel that giving is much better than receiving things and I’m sure that most of you feel that way as well.

The way that you can help to get this food to the needy troops is to simply visit the site How Wheat Works and complete the program.  The program has four phases you will need to complete.  Completing the program takes no time at all, just a few minutes.  For each participant they will donate two pounds of flour (up to 90,000 total).  These few minutes will help a lot of people.  And it just so happens to be the time of year for helping others, and giving back, so make sure you take the time to complete the four phases. You will be creating a virtual wheat field, which is a pretty neat thing. And this program is also being offered for our youth through the website www.wheatfoods.org. So what are you waiting for?  Get started today.

Feeling the Letdown

Is anyone else feeling the after holidays letdown?  I think it’s been building up for the last year for me.  Last year after the holidays Rich and I went away for the first time since Hailey was born.  Then we sold our house, stayed with my parents while waiting to close on our new house, took a couple of trips, moved into our new house, went to Disney World, celebrated Rich’s birthday, my birthday and then Hailey’s birthday.  Then it was Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years. Now it’s a whole bunch of nothing and it has left me feeling down right depressed.  Is it just me?
