Store Brand Formula

January 7, 2010

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of PBM Products. All opinions are 100% mine.

Almost 2 months ago a decision was made by U.S. District Court Judge James R. Spencer as he agreed with the verdict a jury came to back on November 10th regarding a lawsuit filed by PBM against Mead Johnson. According to a press release that I read, PBM products sued Mead Johnson over a false advertisement.  Mead Johnson had made the claim that their infant formula is better in that there is a nutritional difference between their formula and cheaper store brand formulas.

PBM Products says that the only difference between their formula and Mead Johnson’s formula is price.  A jury and judge both agreed and PBM products won their $13.5 million false advertising judgment against Mead Johnson.

By making parents think that their formula was superior Mead Johnson could have potentially cost parents a significant amount of of money.  If you have you ever bought infant formula then you know that it is expensive.  But there is no reason to think you have to buy a more expensive brand in order to have good nutritional value for your child.  Now that this lawsuit has been won and Mead Johnson can no longer use advertising tactics like they were using hopefully parents will save a lot of money on formula, as much as $600 each year.
