Tackling Some More Toys

November 25, 2010

I’ve been working on getting Hailey’s playroom organized and this was my latest project:

Our Happy Happenings

This is one of the shelves in Hailey’s playroom before.  There are two rows with bins that were just filled with a variety of toys and the bottom shelf has books.

This is another shelf with toys on the first two shelves and books on the bottom shelf.

And this is one of the shelves afterwards.  I organized all of the toys into bins and then took pictures of what was in each bin.  Then I used contact paper and put the pictures of what belongs in each bin on the front of the bins.  This will hopefully make clean up easier- if Hailey knows where everything goes she can put it away easier.  I forgot to take a picture of her other shelf but it looks similar to this one.

Tackling the Playroom

November 23, 2010

I haven’t posted a tackle in a loooooooooooooong time.  And I need to get this tackle done, so I am posting about it as motivation to get myself going.  Here is Hailey’s playroom before:

It’s a mess!  Part of the problem is that Hailey constantly takes books out and I don’t consistently make her put them away.  Another problem is that the bins on the shelf have all sorts of stuff thrown in them.  I’m going to organize them- Barbies in one, Legos in another, etc. Then I’ll take pictures of what is in each one and put the picture on the bin.  That should make clean up easier since Hailey will know where to put things.

I started working on it this evening and it looks much better.  But I am going to have to finish the bins and pictures tomorrow.  I’ll be back with after pictures.

Peace of Mind

November 18, 2010

Do you have elderly loved ones who you worry about?  I’m sure that most of us have some relatives who are older or who have a hard time getting around.  You may worry that something could happen to your loved one and they wouldn’t have any way to call for help.  If there isn’t anyone frequently checking in on your loved one then a simple fall could go unknown for days before anyone realizes that he or she needs help.

That is what Medical Guardian is for.  It can provide you with some peace of mind about your loved one.  Your loved one wears a device that can go on their wrist, neck or belt.  There is a button that gets pushed when help is needed.  A signal gets sent out to their Emergency Monitoring Station over an existing phone line.  Then someone will communicate with your loved one and see if they are okay.  If emergency care is needed they will send call EMS to assist.

Your loved one one will not have to move into an assisted living center for you to know that he or she is safe and they can continue to feel independent. You won’t have to worry as much about your loved one and you can have some peace of mind knowing that they are being monitored 24 hours a day.

Finished Deck

November 12, 2010

Rich finished building the deck:

But I thought something was still missing…  I thought it would be nice to have the storage space underneath without having to worry about people seeing the messiness.  So I convinced Rich to make the bottom into a shed.  Then we added some landscaping and whaaalaaa:

The finished deck.  I think it looks great!!
