Last week I posted that I’m going to be Hot for the Holidays.  But now I’m not so sure.

Actually- I did okay for most of the week.  For some reason food doesn’t seem all that good to me lately.  I have no idea why- and many days I am actually really hungry, but nothing looks good and I end up not eating much.  So, I should have lost a lot of weight this week, right?  Apparently not.

On Thursday morning I was down 1/2 pound from last week.  So, even without eating much and taking a walk most days I didn’t lose a whole lot.  But, since yesterday was Rich’s birthday we went out to eat and had some birthday cake last night.  And while I didn’t that much when we went out to dinner and I didn’t eat that much birthday cake I still did damage.  I’m up 1 pound since last week.  (1 1/2 pounds since yesterday)  So, while I know it’s probably just from a heavy meal it still leaves me feeling discouraged.

Not only am I up 1 pound, but now I have to go weigh in at Baby Tea Leaves and tell everyone else that they are up 1 pound too (since we weigh in as a group).  Ugh- anyways- hopefully it will come right back off and I’ll be down a lot next week.

Weight loss this week- +1 pounds
Weight loss since August 1st- 6 pounds
Pounds left to reach mini-goal on October 31st- 14 pounds

I’ll Be Hot for the Holidays

I have been posting each Friday about my weight loss goal and how my dieting has gone during the week.  I was a part of a group that was also doing this, but the group has dwindled down to about 2 people.  And since I think support will help to motivate me I am moving on to a new weight loss group that I found.

Hot for the Holidays

This is a different kind of group of ladies trying to lose weight to be hot in time for the holidays.  Each week everyone will report in their gains and losses and then Christie over at Baby Tea Leaves will tally up our losses (or gains) for a group total.  So, if I gain- everyone gains.  If I lose- I help out the team.  So before I bite into that yummy chocolate chip cookie I have to stop and think- there’s no way I’ll eat just one, it’ll end up being like one row of cookies- and if I gain then the whole group gains.  I’m really excited about this and I think it’s going to help me on my way to reaching my goal!

So, how did I do this week?  I lost 2 pounds.  Woo Hoo!!

Since I started my diet back on August 1st I’ve lost 7 pounds.  Today was my first mini-goal date and I had wanted to lose 10 pounds by today.  It didn’t happen, but I’m not going to get discouraged about it.  My next mini-goal will be to lose 13 pounds by October 31st, which will put me back on track for reaching my main goal.  I have to work a little harder this time since I have an extra 3 pounds to lose, but I know I can do it.

Fitness on Friday

I am really late posting this, but that is better than last week when I never posted about my diet.  I was just busy last week and ran out of time.  This week Hailey has been sick which always cuts into my blogging time.  She has a cold and can’t breathe out of her nose which makes it hard for her to sleep which is when I usually do my blogging.  Then I started giving her nebulizer breathing treatments yesterday to prevent the wheezing that often comes with her colds.  But the treatment made her act funny today- and I will not be giving it to her again.  She did not take a nap at all today because she just could not hold still at all.  So, it was a long day and this is the first chance I have had to sit down and post.

And there is nothing exciting to share.  I am only down one pound from when I weighed in two weeks ago.  Which basically means I have to lose 5 pounds this week in order to meet my mini goal of losing 10 pounds by Sept 12th.  It doesn’t seem very likely although I will try to meet the goal I’m not feeling very confident about it.
