Fun Monday this week is being hosted by Jo Beaufoix. Here is Jo’s assignment:
“I want to know about your first ‘celebrity’ crush. You know, the one you fancied from that band, or that film, or who read the news, or who won Gold at the Olympics.
Did you have their pictures on your wall or in your locker?
Did you dress like them, style or colour your hair like them, follow them, meet them, marry them? (It could happen.)
Photos of THEM would be good, photos of YOU at the time you liked them would be even better.
Also, if you have time, I’d like to know whether they had any influence over your life, the person you became, or if they were just an embarrassing blip you would kind of rather forget about.”

Okay- so the first celebrity crushes I can remember having were when I was in junior high. At the time 90210 was the big show that everyone watched, well all of the girls watched it anyways. I don’t know if that was the kind of show that guys watched. So, anyhoo- I had a major crush on Jason Priestly and Luke Perry.

I liked both of them, but my favorite one was Jason Priestly and I did have his picture in my locker. And I’m quite sure that I planned on one day marrying him. But it didn’t quite work out that way.
He definitely did not have any impact on my life though, just one of those silly crushes that junior high girls have.
And so now for the part you’ve all been waiting for. Jo requested some pictures of us at the time of our first celebrity crush. So, here I am:

We had to dress up one week for church for a western theme. I don’t remember why we had to do it, I just remember doing it. Anyhoo- that’s me with my youngest brother Matt. Take special note of my socks, if you will. Notice I am wearing two pairs of socks, as was the style at the time. Those were the days. Fun times.

And here is one more picture of me in all my junior high glory. Of course- wearing a Guess sweatshirt, as was the style at the time. Those were the days. Fun times.
But really, compared to what kids wear now- my mom had nothing to complain about. Insisting on wearing Guess clothes and two different colored socks seems pretty tame to me.
Anyhoo, that was the story of my first celebrity crush. Stop by and visit Jo to see the rest of the Fun Monday participants.
